Blocking and Finishing Snowflakes

I don’t know if there’s a right or a wrong way to block snowflakes. I know there’s always a lot of discussion among snowflake fans--what works, what doesn’t, best way to pin down the snowflake, what kind of pin is best etc.. It a perpetual discussion…I think it all boils down to personal preference and personal experience.
This is how I block my snowflakes, it works for me, it’s easy . Easy is always good in my book.

Granny Square Baby Booties

Coming soon! (I hope!) A picture tutorial on this pattern!

This was the first pattern I made up on my own. At the time I was in college and there weren’t a lot of people into crocheting at that time so I was more or less on my own. I saw a pair of  knitted baby booties and figured out how to do the sole and the sides, but that top was a little too complicated so I decided to use a granny square instead.  That was nearly 30 years ago! I still use this pattern and I've made more booties than I can count with this pattern.  It’s been difficult to write this out as I’ve never really counted stitches, I’ve done it for so long I look at where I am and if it looks about right I move on.  So after a few tries and a little math, here we go!
